for anyone who has cinema4d and uses b3d you will prob know that fbx export from cinema4d normally spits out a mesh with bones not attached or that deform incorrectly. but from my early tests of the new fbx export the first animated mesh i tried worked perfectly. does this mean i can finally use cinema4d to animated b3d meshes?

sorry i was so supprised i had to post it!

Have you tried the free fbx converter on Autodesk's website?

i spoke to soon its still broken GRRRR

Reactor: the fbx converter on the utodesk site doent help as its cinema 4d's fbx exporter thats got bugs in it.

it almost works but when its a mesh with a number of bone the date get messed up.

back to character FX

Why not export out from C4D in another format first, before converting to fbx? You might get around the bugs that way.

you cant the only format that cinema4d can export that has the animation data is FBX. all other formats are static. unbeleavable i know.

What about this?

Pete Carter(Posted 2008) [#7]
it does work but it uses the old pre R10 way of animating which is really long winded. plus it currently has a couple of issues with R10.

What about this?
1. export from Cinema 4D to Lightwave
2. export from Blender as Lightwave to FBX
